About MFN

Built to solve technology challenges together.

MFN was formed in 1998 when four credit unions came together around a shared technology need. Hosting was the starting point. What grew from that collaboration is a broader financial-technology organization built around the changing needs of the institutions we serve.

Our story

Built around a shared technology need since 1998.

Four credit unions came together to address a technology challenge that made sense to solve collaboratively. Hosting gave those institutions access to specialized expertise, infrastructure, operational knowledge, and shared experience without requiring each institution to build the same capability independently.

That idea became the foundation for MFN.

How the needs changed

The needs changed. MFN changed with them.

Hosting and critical financial systems remain part of MFN's foundation. But technology inside financial institutions has become broader, more interconnected, and increasingly specialized.

MFN evolved with those needs—expanding into cybersecurity, managed and co-managed technology, infrastructure and resilience, strategic technology advisory, and broader support for critical financial systems.

Today

A broader financial-technology partner.

MFN can engage at the level that fits the institution, from experienced perspective to additional capability to defined operational responsibility.

What hasn't changed

The technology has changed. The reason MFN exists hasn't.

MFN still exists to help financial institutions access technology expertise, capability, and perspective that can be difficult to build alone. The technologies are different, but the underlying approach remains grounded in collaboration, practical decision-making, security, reliability, and shared experience.

Credit-union roots, broader capability

Specialization remains central.

MFN's history and expertise are rooted in credit unions. That specialization remains an advantage, while many MFN capabilities can also help other appropriate financial institutions facing similarly consequential technology challenges.

The next chapter

The next chapter is still about solving real technology problems.

MFN has evolved as the needs of financial institutions have evolved. The next conversation starts the same way the organization did: by understanding the technology challenge and determining the right way to solve it.
